How can you benefit from recPLM?

Systems Engineering (S.E) and traditional Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) are aiming to the same goal with opposite approaches. They co-exist in many companies and are under different departments’ authorities. Because, S.E is looking at product development with a top-down mindset and the traditional PLM world is taking the bottom-up approach, it will take time for industrial companies to see S.E. and PLM as a unique approach. This awareness will be at huge cost for the companies who invested in separate processes, methods and tools for several years. Large companies in the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive can afford that cost but what about all the other companies who are developing complex and mission or safety critical products?
recPLM is providing an excellent answer for these companies as recPLM’s processes, methods and tools are lightweight and agile.
recPLM is accelerating the convergence of S.E and PLM because it does not differentiate between them as it sees them as ONE.
recPLM means “requirements engineering centric PLM” and is based on the observation that any task that a company’s employee is performing is seen as a requirement that, in some way or another, needs to be related to the product’s stakeholder essential needs. Identification of these relations is very difficult without a methodology such as recPLM as these relations can be very subtle and are often not made visible for several reasons.
recPLM provides a generic and common approach and vocabulary for all actors involved directly or indirectly in the product development, production and operation
Unlike approaches which aim to detect and eliminate defects during product development and production, recPLM has the objective to not introduce them the first time.
